2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” (Psalms 91:2 NKJV)
Declare and decree this over your life over and over again! For David, HE is not a God he heard of who works miracles, not a mighty God he has seen someone else trust and follow. But David called Him 'MY GOD'. Do you know Him as your Lord and Savior personally?
David calls God as His refuge and fortress while in exile/terrible circumstances of life. But those are exactly the circumstances where our faith is tested by fire and refined. In a time when typically people question the presence of God Himself, David chooses to do The opposite.
God may not prevent it all but will strengthen and sustain it through all to come out as victors and not victims. The last time I checked, Romans 8:28 is still in the Bible and always true.
This kind of trust in the years of wilderness is what led David to become the King of Judah finally. God prepared David not only for the Kingship but also trained David to trust in God, no matter what!
When all our support systems fail, when all the high horses we sit in are pulled down, when the poles of our foundations are shaken, we run to the Lord as we have nowhere else to go.
Could we do the same always, every time? Is praise and prayer your first response or last resort? Our God is not one among the gods of this world or one among the tools we deploy to handle a situation. But Jesus is our ONLY God, only refuge/rock/fortress in life. Not just in the days of distress but in all other days too.
That kind of unwavering trust in Jesus works miracles in life. It would clear the path sometimes and other times it'd strengthen us to walk through the mess. Everyone else and everything else will fall apart in life but ONLY our Lord is our refuge, fortress here and forever in eternity. Love, Trust and Serve HIM!
Blessings for the day!
