Faith beyond Faith!

Gen 50:20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

A cliché verse often used to show how strong Joseph’s faith was and even how strong is God's sovereign will and arm in making things happen. Make no mistake, Joseph's faith was not in hindsight (20/20) but faith beyond faith, aka trust as things unfold in every day life, trust when future seems totally uncertain, trust when wave after wave of life hits and hurts.

We can understand better, if we take a retrospective look into Joseph’s life

-- If Joseph was not the favorite kid, his brothers might not have hated him,

-- If Joseph was not hated by his own brothers, he would not have been sold to sojourners,

-- If Joseph was not sold, Potiphar or his wife would not have come into his life,

-- If Joseph was not unjustly accused by Potiphar’s wife, he would not have been imprisoned,

-- If Joseph was not imprisoned, he would not have met the cook or cup bearer,

-- If Joseph had not interpreted their dreams in prison, he'd have never met the King...

Men and women of this world from whom you expect favor/support/love even reciprocal may forget or even ignore you. But, when your daily walk in life is with a deep desire to please God, HE rattles even hierarchies to changes circumstances and even people, if needed.

Maybe Pharaoh got the dream because the Baker and Cupbearer were ungrateful and forgot Joseph? Remember, when Daniel was thrown into lion’s den, Daniel slept but God rattled up the king who lost his sleep all night and ran to the lion's den in the morning. Praise God who guards Israel neither sleeps not slumbers.

In all the tumultuous waves of events in Joseph's life, never once we read that Joseph murmured, lamented or complained. Beyond the simple faith unto Salvation, Joseph had a deep rooted, unshakable trust in God's sovereign control over his life and his sovereign power to change things beyond his control. A sovereign faith that God is in control of his life no matter what happens or what others/enemy attempt on his life.

He truly trusted what is above his head is still under HIS feet! Be in the comfort of his household, be it the waterless pit, be it sold as a slave, be it prison and later even be it in the palace, whatever the circumstance or obvious outcome at every stage, Joseph had a deep, deep conviction of God’s sovereignty that God's will be done in his life.

Do you know that, the very same God, has the very same sovereign control over your life and mine? Unless God has such plan and purpose for our lives, he would not have called us unto Salvation in the first place (John 6:44). We all believe in Jesus Christ and have faith in Him but how far we trust HIM enough to stay strong like Joseph? IOW, we do believe unto Salvation but do we entrust our lives enough to God's sovereign plan and purpose? God’s plan of redemption for humanity is far greater than any other plan anytime and HE will accomplish it.

This in New Testament perspective, is ‘walk by faith’ and not sight (2 Cor 5:7). This is why faith is found both in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Yes, there is faith unto salvation but there is a faith beyond, trust beyond boundaries that God the Holy Spirit could impart in us. Such impartation/anointing takes us to the next level of faith life with unshakable confidence and trust in God's sovereignty no matter what the circumstances are. Such impartation/anointing will break the yoke and bondage in your life (Isa 10:27) like never before. He is already given (Acts 2:16-21) but have you received HIM?

Anointing is not mere emotion, eloquence and drama but growing in deep, deep knowledge of God, growing in intimate relationship with him with an inherent awareness of His presence to trust in HIS sovereign purpose being fulfilled in and through 'all things' (Rom 8:28) of our daily life, no matter how gloomy the present circumstances are. That my dearly beloved transforms your life, brings a peace that surpasses understanding, works miracles not just in your life but through you in the lives of people around you, changes circumstances, rattles hierarchies, brings down strongholds, leads and guides you.

That’s the kind of faith, something beyond the faith unto Salvation, unshakable, deep rooted trust that Joseph had, to persist during the abnormal circumstances of his life. As a believer, you and I are called to grow into that level of trust in our daily life. The one who called us is faithful and will accomplish it (1 Ths 5:2, Eph 2:10).

Have a blessed day and week ahead!
