Now therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning” rend your heart, and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm - Joel 2:12-13
Season of lent is not a time to lament but to a season to recalibrate our Spiritual life and walk with Christ! Jesus is neither on the cross nor in the tomb today but having accomplished the work of Salvation HE is seated at the right hand of the Father victorious.
How would you like to be remembered in life? God almighty, creator of heaven and earth portrays himself not by HIS majesty, power or might but portrays Himself as 'gracious and merciful'.
We all know to ask 'what is it there for' when we see 'therefore' in the Bible. It means, regardless of where you are in your spiritual walk, regardless of how dark and down your past is, regardless of how distant you feel from God, regardless of your day to day struggles in life, regardless of why you are where you are in your life, God says, "I am gracious and merciful"! My grace and mercy neither depends on the circumstances of your life nor the righteousness of your life but ONLY by the blood of My only begotten son Jesus Christ!
Would you render your heart during the season of lent? Examine, consider and ponder your life's path and its course. Like David would you say "Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting - Ps 139:23-24". When you turn to Jesus with all your heart, HE is gracious, merciful and willing to transform your life forever.
Blessings to know HIM more, love HIM more and serve HIM more...
