Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God - 2 Cor 1:3-4
Attitude means everything. Attitude is not a skill to learn/train but a personality trait to hone and shape the right way. It drives your approach to everything and thereby has a great influence on the outcome as well.
What an attitude Paul had towards tribulation! Looking at tribulation, even tribulation as a boot camp/training ground to serve! This week, I found myself in a place to be comforted and at the same time in a place to comfort others, hurting bad.
But there is a big difference. Paul suffered for Christ in every step of the way. As much as God chose him, Paul chose this path of God for God. For everything right Paul did, he suffered even more. But he was relentless in his pursuit to know and fulfill God's will.
We may not be suffering for Christ like Paul, maybe not yet. But, even the day to day trials and tribulations of life are meant to be a boot camp/training ground for us to grow/reflect such attitude?!? This week, as I found myself in difficult circumstances where I was in a place to comfort others while I was hurting on the inside, Holy Spirit brought this verse to mind over and over. My prayer was for God to comfort/train me in a way that grows and trains me to serve HIM faithfully in all circumstances with such heavenly attitude.
Blessings for the day and week ahead!
