Abiding Presence

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever - Psalms 23:6

Omnipresence is God's NATURE

Manifested presence is God's CHOICE but

Abiding presence is God's DESIRE.

Yes, God doesn't want to be a visitor but desires to dwell in us, all the days of our life leading us to eternity with HIM. Have you opened your heart to Him? While humanity all over makes every effort in flesh to reach God, the real question is, if God is reachable and attainable with mere mortal human efforts of flesh, then is it God at all?

We serve a God who knew that no human effort would be sufficient to reach God. Instead sent HIS only begotten son Jesus Christ who reached down to us, saved us by His sacrifice on the Cross. Jesus assured us of the ever dwelling presence of Holy Spirit in us.

Everyone from Abraham to Malachi including David longed for this Messiah in the time of Law the Old Covenant. That's why David here does not say 'some days' or 'most days' but 'all days'. In the New Covenant that we live in, the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, brought us that abiding presence. It is available freely to anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. That brings the abiding presence of God the Holy Spirit who teaches, reminds us of what Jesus taught (John 14:26) and leads us in all Truth (John 16:13).

Sure there are ups and downs, peaks and valleys, sunny and dark days, healthy and sick days, holy and sinful times, joyful and tearful times in life. But, all in all, we have the blessed assurance of God's ever dwelling presence in us. Not that we do not know this but we need constant reminder of it as we take on life in its strides.

I may not know the specifics of your life circumstance or state today, but there is a God who knows and HE IS WITH YOU. Would you affirm like David, the abiding presence of God in you and pray that you'll hear His voice, you'll experience the work of His hand not only to transform your own life but through you, the life of people around you.

This is God's desire as well. Blessings!
